Yandex.Taxi to invest over 2 bln rbl in security technologies by 2020

SKOLKOVO, Moscow, Apr 24 (PRIME) -- Russian online taxi hailing service Yandex.Taxi will invest more than 2 billion rubles in evolution and a new development of safe driving technologies in 2019, Operating Director Daniil Shuleiko said on Wednesday.

“We mean investments in the projects already implemented by Yandex.Taxi: equipment of cars with child seats and designing of programs teaching drivers to work in the child fare, testing of pre-driving medical checks via telemedicine, face-to-face and remote checks of cars, a program of insurance of drivers and passengers,” Shuleiko said.

The company has already invested more than 1.2 billion rubles in this direction over the last two years.

Yandex.Taxi introduced remote monitoring of speed of cars in December 2018. Shuleiko also said that the company also equips cars with a device to detect signs of driver fatigue and drowsiness.
